Picture Day Volunteers

Cafeteria Volunteers

The school is in need of volunteers to help out in the cafeteria. This is a great way to help out the school in short busts.  If you have even just 30 minutes to come help in the lunchroom it would be greatly appreciated.

Mascot Volunteer

We are ordering an official mascot costume!! Goal is to debut it soon. If you are interested in volunteering to wear it, please reach out!

Grade Level Room Parent Leads

The Grade-Level Lead will serve as the primary liaison between the VP of Classroom Support and the Room Parents within their grade. Leads will be expected to:

  • Maintain active PTA membership, not currently serve in a PTA Board position, and complete all required Volunteer and Room Parent training by the established deadlines.
  • Commit to serving in the role for the full school year.
  • Regularly monitor email and Classroom Support communications and respond in a timely manner.
  • Help keep Room Parents across the grade informed, organized and aware of important dates, expectations and needs.
  • Attend PTA General Meetings and help communicate relevant information back to grade-level Room Parents.
  • Help coordinate grade-wide needs and activities when applicable, while delegating and encouraging participation from other Room Parents and volunteers.
  • Support teacher-led activities and maintain appropriate communication and boundaries between teachers, families and PTA.
  • Model positive, inclusive and respectful communication and maintain confidentiality when appropriate.
  • Encourage involvement from both new and returning ETES families.
  • Bring questions or concerns to the VP of Classroom Support when clarification or additional support is needed.

This role is less about doing everything yourself and more about communicating, coordinating and helping the Room Parents within your grade be successful.

If you would like to be considered and are comfortable committing to the expectations above, please email etesclassroomsupport@gmail.com  no later than Tuesday, September 15 at 8:00 PM.

Volunteer Reminders

  1. Please please remember to bring your actual photo ID when you come to volunteer. A picture of a driver’s license on your phone does not work, this is a district rule and is there to keep our students safe.
  2. Coffee and/or snacks in the mail room and break room is for staff only. A lot of those items are purchased by the staff for their personal use and not for visitors.
  3. When you sign up to volunteer for an event either school-wide or grade-specific, it means that you signed up to volunteer for the entire class and specific activities and not just follow your own child around (unless the description of the event/activity says so). Parent volunteers during lunch are expected to circulate in the cafeteria and help all students with tasks such as opening milk cartons, juice boxes or as directed by cafeteria staff. The only exception to this is when you come in to celebrate your child’s birthday. Even for this prior communication with the homeroom teacher is required and please notify the cafeteria staff that you are here to celebrate and hence will be sitting with your child.
  4. Make sure you are in the Raptor Volunteer system. Must renew application yearly.
